So you’ve heard all of the “gurus” talk about list building and there is a current resurgence of high priced listbuilding products on the market. . .but is it really that hard to do?
The answer to that is yes and no. . .if you want to start a business from scratch starting now with no prior knowledge of internet marketing or the terms, html, css, and php just intimidate the heck out of you. . .have no fear. . . if you can write up a document on a word processor such as microsoft word, then you can build a website, blog, or simple opt in page. The easiest way to start is simple. . .
Step 1:
Create a free blog at www.wordpress.org, or www.blogger.com (I prefer wordpress as it is better and more flexible for marketing, however blogger is a bit easier to use. . .)
Step 2:
Create 5-6 articles of 400-500 words around the topic of interest. . let’s use dog training as an example. Here are 5 different articles you can write about:
* How to get your dog to stop peeing on your brand new white carpet
* Why dogs act the way they do and a little know secret of how to control your dog’s behavior
* How important is the food I feed my dog
* Why the average dog owner is much happier then non-pet owners
* Dog or Cat?! Why dogs rule!
Something like that. . .I’m sure if you’re a fan of dogs, you can put up 5-6 articles about them
Step 3:
Here’s a part that you have to spend a little bit of money on. . but it’s pretty small and you have a 30 day trial so if you don’t make back the initial investment ($19) in the first month you can simply cancel. . .and not pay a dime. . .you should invest in a good autoresponder service. . .there’s several available such as 1shoppingcart, getresponse. . .my personal favorite for several reasons including deliverability (people actually receiving emails who are on your list) is aweber.
So you should sign up for an autoresponder service (send me an email at internetsurvivorman(at)gmail.com and I will send a follow up series of videos showing how to use aweber. . .actually I’ll probably just post them on this blog.
Step 4:
Using the easy to follow instructions on aweber, create a simple opt-in form to collect emails. . .and then add to your blog.
Step 5:
Take each article and post to ezinearticles.com, articlecity.com and goarticles.com (You can change each articles slightly, but at the bottom of each article have a link back to your blog).
Step 6:
Go to clickbank and then go to the marketplace tab. . .and then enter your key phrase, in this case “dog training” and pick the top few dog training products to promote as an affiliate.
Step 7:
Create an autoresponder series in aweber promoting one of the dog training series. The best way to do it is:
Email #1 :
“John,
Hey I see that you just subscribed to my newsletter list. I look forward to helping you in your quest to train your dog better. When you get a second drop me an email or comment on the blog and I’ll be happy to touch base with you to see how things are going.

Email #2:
“Hey John,
Check out this article I came across for dog training. . .(include link to one of the articles on your blog).
Let me know what you think!

Step 8:
Keep track of how many visitors you get to your blog, and how many sales you make!
Step 9:
Create your own product! And start marketing it the same way. . .so you get 100% of the money and not 50% of the affiliate commission
I know this is a simple overview of how to get started building your list. . .but I will begin to post some videos of how to do each step above to help you get started on your road to building an internet business.
